Day 43

Woke up at 7am
Got an early jump on things today. I made quick work of the remaining outside wall studs on the back wall. The only thing that was a little time consuming was the back door. I never like putting in doors and windows due to the immense amount of shim work that needs to be done. I know, I know, people will be saying “Well not if you do it right”, I get it. But it still doesn’t negate the fact that it is time-consuming and I spent the greater part of my day getting it installed.

Once that was finished I went back to the front of the house to frame up the windows above the door.

I did this prior to finishing the top plates mainly so I can get an idea of the final height of the front walls. This will give me a better calculation on materials needed for the rest of the framing work.

All in all, it was a pretty productive day. I went ahead and used the shower down the street as it was humid all day today and things were starting to smell
pretty ripe by now. There are things that even a bucket shower and moist towelettes can’t cover up,lol. So I went to Debra and Frank’s house for a shower and a breather. They are kind people. I mean hell hath no fury if you ever cross Debra, but in the end, they are very considerate (pending you are white, male and a Christian Republican).  Unfortunately, she did find out that my wife came from a Muslim country and she definitely had a lot of FOX News commentary about that subject. But, to each their own. If they aren’t hurting anybody or causing problems, then I say have your “God loves Trump” branding. Just keep the, “I only say Molum, and not Muslim, becuase they hate when we call them that’, to yourself.
