Day 37

Dec. 12, 2017
WOKE UP AT 5:30AM
Today I woke up to the sound of the most peculiar bird. One I have never heard before, nor have I ever seen before. Maybe someone watching the video can identify it for me. The video would have been longer but my phone died at that moment.

Today was pretty much a wasted day of me driving back and forth to Hilo. I started
out by trying to take back the air mattress as it is now starting to completely deflate on its own. The valve has broken and it is the rapid release one, so I am taken down to the floor in about 2.5 seconds. Well, the store did not have any to exchange and I have to go back at a later date.

I was so distraught that I completely forgot about picking up a carpenter square while I was in town. So I thought, no biggie, I can just get one at the small hardware store down the road from me. Well, they were out of them and it meant going back into Hilo again. They are doing road maintenance and both directions right now and so it is limited to sharing one lane for both directions. What normally take 15 minutes, now takes me an hour.

So, now I got the squ;/06kfc (sorry about that. The bed just deflated again while I was typing this. I was going to delete it but I felt you should understand my frustrations completely) Where was I??? Oh yeah, so I got the carpenter square and grabbed a box of nails then headed home to finally start working today. But after struggling for two
hours I finally decided I need a nail gun, and there is no way I will finish in time without one. I did not want to go this route but it seems that I have no choice.

This meant going into Hilo for the third time. By the time I returned, I only had about 2 hours of daylight left. So, I quickly got to work and managed to get a little bit of framing done. I spent the last half hour making sure everything was covered and put away for the upcoming rain we will have tomorrow and the next day.

P.S. The guy who rented me the van just called me and said he needed to trade out vans as he has a family coming in on Thursday for a graduation and they need the seating. So, here we go again, lol. Let’s see how this will turn out. I just hope it is a better vehicle than the one that broke down on me before.
