Woke up at…I have no idea… as I really didn’t get to sleep last night.
There was a big lightning storm all night and it sounded like a freight train as it passed directly over me. I pretty much got out of bed with the sun, but things were still pretty wet from the night before.
Nolan, the excavator guy, came and we decided to bring in some rocks for the driveway. About halfway through the first load, I realized we were going to need another truckload. I tried to make do without it, but I guess you can’t fight fate. Nolan had told me two loads from the get-go, but I was too stubborn to listen to him. So after this was done, I went ahead and laid the remaining posts and piers while the guys dug the holes for my gate. Once they left I grabbed the gear for the gate and went to town. And let me tell you something, this was not easy. By yourself is one thing, but with
giant blisters on your feet from walking around on rocks all day in rubber boots. No bueno! My feet are completely ruined.
I think tomorrow will start out with a run to the pharmacy to get some gauze and bandage wraps. But, in the end, the gate is up.
The car is backed into the driveway behind it. And the land is now secure. Finally! Now can we get back to building the home
please!!!!
