Woke up at 6:30am
Went to the site a little early today to get a nice head start since I was not able to do anything the day before. I started out just the same as always, and Hank decided to join me and bring along his weed eater. After a while, we realized that we would need a bigger chainsaw, so we went to Home Depot and I got a larger one. After this, we came back to the property and got a whole lot of trees cut down. We even managed to take down a few large ones as well.

But, unfortunately, I had to leave to take back the rental car and pick up the new rental van. This proved to be a right pain in the neck as the guy Monty was not even on the island, so I had to go to some other guy’s house to pick up the guy who would get the van for me. Then we drove all the way down to the bottom of the island. We got lost several times because he couldn’t remember where the place was located. Once we finally arrived he got in the van and I drove the rental car back to the airport while he followed. This whole process took 3 hours. Once the car rental was back to the airport, I drove the two of us back to where he lived in the van.
Little did I know that was not going to be an easy task as well. For one, we had absolutely no gas by the time I had the van in my possession. So my first stop was to fill up the tank.
Then, once we were about to get to his neighborhood he asks if we can swing by his girlfriend’s house to pick her up. At this point, I thought he was joking, but of course, he was not. I obliged and gave them both a ride back to his house.
I started this little excursion around noon today and made it back to my place around 8 pm. This was a terrible way to spend 50 bucks for an airport pickup. Never will I go this route again. But, my hands were tied because we have such a short time frame to work with. I was too exhausted to put everything back into the van that I had removed from the rental car, and just called it a night.

Tomorrow I plan to eliminate some more trees and hopefully get an excavator to come in and scrape away the debris. Once this is done, I can start on building the home finally.
