YouTube link: Day 2 Planning and Prepping
Nov. 7, 2017
Woke up at 7:00am
Got up early to take a quick shower and ate some cereal for breakfast. Also, I managed to make some coffee from the grocery store purchases from the night before. The one provided by the Airbnb was not exactly… good? Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the effort! I went to the site around 8am am to start clearing the land with the hand tools. After one hour I had cleared away a 6 ft x 10 ft square from the road inward into the property. I would have kept going, but, I needed to come back and shower before meeting with the realtor. Once I got to her location I received some very useful information, and a list of numbers to call for assistance during the build.
From there I headed back to the land to look for the property markers so I could stake the boundaries. This went on for a few hours until I finally had to give up out of pure frustration, and headed back to the room to relax for a bit.
Later, I talked to the wife before headed out to get some food. I am not going to lie, I did find myself eating at Burger King after seeing how huge the lines were and the wait times for many of the locations. I know that is not where someone should eat whilst in Hawaii. But I promise this will be my last gluttonous activity. At least for a while 🙂
After this, I went to the drug store and got some more supplies and groceries. Then headed back to the room and opened up all of the newly purchased power tools. Mainly so I can put all the batteries on charge and make sure they are ready to go by morning. The plan for tomorrow will be to head to the site and continue clearing as much as possible (weather permitting).
